| Peter finally made it to India, where I had already been for 2 weeks. Our first stop was Mahabalipuram, a beach resort South of Chennai (Madras).
There we visited some of the 6-7th century temples, some built on the rocks overlooking the village. We had our picture taken by an Indian family (top). They were also going to this small temple which might have been used as a light-house (left). Peter adopted the "veshti", a sarong-like costume. We saw a snake-charmer (below). |

| The most famous sculpture in Mahabalipuram is called " the descent of the Ganges" (top).
There used to be water falling in the middle, falling on a Naga sculpture (left). This Naga is a female deity representing water, Earth, fertility. |
