| On the way to Tanjore, I was blessed by a temple elephant, which fascinated Peter... (left)
We also had our little problems, bridges being repaired, tyre exploding, etc... (below) All in all, travelling is unfortunately slow on Indian roads (and you have to avoid cows, goats, dogs, chicken, people,...). |

| Peter loved Indian roads and took lots of pictures of them! We even filmed the driving...
Finally we reached Tanjore where Peter was blessed by an elephant (below - it took some convincing, look at the elephant which is laughing!). Below right, the entrance gate of the majestic, 10th century Tanjore temple. Built by RajaRaja Chola to commemorate his reign, it is a breath-taking monument. |
