Brahmin saris:

In two States of South India, Brahmin women wear very distinctive saris, that I grouped as "South Indian Brahmin saris". In Andhra Pradesh, these saris are clearly adaptations of dhotis. In Tamil Nadu their extremely complicated styles are a cross between Dravidian saris and dhotis.

The drapes are too complex and too different from one another for a basic description.

Left: Aiyangar Brahmin women wearing their typical sari (the one in yellow is a widow) and a man wearing a short dhoti.

Right: Aiyar sari.
